The City of Northampton is located in Western Massachusetts along Interstate 91. We have a population of just under 30,000 people. The City of Northampton is a unique community. We have a downtown business district by day that transforms into a busy social center by night, with many restaurants, nightclubs and event venues. The City has two courthouses, a fairgrounds, a major hospital (CDH), Smith College, two large high schools, a middle school, four elementary schools, a Veterans Administration Hospital, Look Memorial Park, and a bicycle rail trail that cuts through the middle of downtown.
With a focus on social service, we also have homeless shelters, a methadone clinic, a needle exchange program, addiction recovery centers, and many other service resources.
