NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts (March 22, 2018)-   The Northampton Police Department is a pleased to announce the addition of two new officers, Officer Heather Longley and Officer Garrett Wojcicki. They were formally sworn-in on March 22, 2018, in the Northampton Police Department Community Room.

Officer Longley attended Lasell College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies. She was a member of the Criminal Justice National Honors Society, received the college’s Criminal Justice Book Award, and was named Lasell College Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2016. She holds the school’s Women’s Track and Field discus record.

She is a graduate of the 55th Western Mass Police Academy, and began her employment with The Northampton Police Department on November 07, 2016 and is currently assigned to the 11-7 shift.

Officer Wojcicki graduated Magna Cum Laude from Westfield State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Political Science.  In 2013 Garrett interned with the Northampton District Court Probation Department, monitoring offenders and coordinating rehabilitation services. In 2014, Garrett joined Northampton Public Safety a Dispatcher.

He is a graduate of the 56th Western Mass Police Academy, and began his employment with the Northampton Police Department on 6/19/2017 and is currently assigned to the Field Training and Evaluation Program.

During this ceremony various other awards were given out to officer for their credible and honorable acts in 2018.
