Northampton Police Swearing-In and Awards Ceremony

New NPD Officers Sworn-In/Awards

NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts (March 28, 2016)-  The Northampton Police Department announces the retirements of two veteran officers, the swearing in of six new officers, along with the awarding of several  departmental awards. Officer Gilberto Jimenez  retired earlier this year from the department after 27 years of dedicated service.  Officer Donald Nichols will be retiring in April after 33 years of dedicated service.  He currently holds badge #01 and will be transitioning that badge to Detective Peter Fappiano once he retires.  
Six new officers will begin their careers with NPD by being sworn-in.  Molly Farber, Bradley Buzzee, Kyle Grumoli, Brandon Lagoy, Honora Sullivan-Chin, and Zachary Hall will all be sworn-in.  They all graduated from the Western Mass Police Academy on February 12, 2016.  They are currently all assigned to the Field Training and Evaluation Program.
Several officers from NPD, officers from other agencies, along with civilians will receive awards for numerous commendable acts that occured in 2015.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 @ 6 p.m. in the J.F.K. Community Room, 100 Bridge Rd, Florence.
