The prosecutorial functions of the department fall under the auspices of the Detective Bureau. The Court Administrator serves as the department's liaison to the District and Superior Courts, as well as to the District Attorney's Office. The Court Administrator is responsible for carrying out the department's day to day prosecutorial duties. The Court Administrator works closely with the District Court Clerk's Office and the District Attorney's Office, in the coordination and prosecution of all criminal, non-criminal and civil cases involving the Northampton Police Department.
